K-Market Jounin Kauppa is the largest K-Market in Finland and it is located near Yllästunturi. Our wide range of products, from food to consumer goods, serves both locals and a large number of holidaymakers. Satisfied customers and an experiential shopping experience are our passion and we are constantly developing the store. One of our specialities is the large fluctuations in sales as the seasons change and managing these is part of our skill set. Jouni's Shop is part of the complete Lapland holiday experience.
In the store, we work in a team model, but collaborate across departmental boundaries, taking into account the whole store. The store has four teams: a checkout team, a fresh team (hay, bread, milk-cheese-fat and processed meat-prepared food), an industrial team (brewing, frozen, industrial, consumables) and a service counter team.
We are looking for a salesperson who will be responsible for acting as a team leader in an industrial team. The size of the team varies depending on the time of year, with a maximum of around 8 people. The team leader will act as a link and a close contact between the merchants and the team members. His/her tasks include:
- the main responsibility for ensuring that the team follows agreed working methods and is accountable to the traders
- Daily organisation and resourcing of work within the team
- Progressing work throughout the day and reacting actively, managing work and ensuring efficiency
- maintaining team balance - no department is over-emphasised
- the right to direct people within the department or to release people to work outside the team when the situation allows
- ensure the completion of the induction of seasonal workers in your team
- communication with other team leaders and traders
The job involves ordering responsibility and other duties of a department manager, such as running promotions and maintaining the range. All team members, including the team leader, are involved in the daily unloading of goods in the various departments, as well as other shop work in the checkout and other departments as required. In the low season (May to November), the tasks may vary more; in the high season, from December to May Day, the tasks are carried out by the team.

We expect from the applicant:
- Ability to work independently and effectively
- Experience in the commercial sector and similar tasks
- experience in pre-employment counselling or induction work
- Enthusiasm to learn new things and develop
- Flexibility and willingness to work across departmental boundaries
- A good attitude towards work and colleagues
- knowledge of k-Group systems would be an advantage

The position is permanent and full-time (37.5 h/wk). Salaries will be in line with the TES of the trade but responsible salespersons will also be paid a responsibility bonus based on experience and training. You can apply for a salary.
Work will start according to agreement, but we hope to start work in early summer. The work is mainly morning-oriented. We will help you find accommodation in the area if necessary.
