We've been creating new Youtube serie during spring 2021, where master chef Diego Gallardo presents how to make japanese street food with real ways. Diego learned his skills in Japan, where he originally went to learn ways of Martial Arts. Local food took his heart, so Diego decided to stay and learn from the best japanese chefs.
Diego came to Äkäslompolo in Spring 2020. Before that he was working as a head chef in tampere, but Sampo knew his skills who lured him come to Jounin Kauppa. Diego came for the spring and was making sushi for the travellers. After spring people were hungry for more japanese delicates.
Diego decided to move to Äkäslompolo. Idea was not only to make sushi, with Sampo they wanted to create something special. And special they did, which is know as Saiko Deli nowadays. Saiko Deli is part of Jounin Kauppa, where Diego and his team offers various japanese street food delicates.
Idea to make a serie came during winter 2021. Japanese food has arrived to Finland for good, but not too many knows how to make authentic japanese street food at home - But still everyone is eager to get some from restaurant. Serie got started with Louru Oy, with Janne Pasma and Tuomas Kurtakko, where expertise of filming and editing meets each other. From the beginning the idea was to make fast-phased tutorial with interesting visual outfit. Result is 12-episodes long season. First episode got out 3.7.2021. Every week new episode will take place. You will find subtitles in english and finnish, so you wont miss any tips!
12 episodes will teach you how to make authentic japanese street food at home. Part of the episodes are filmed at home. Take this great opportunity to learn new ways of making food. In the serie you will learn to cook for example miso soup, sushi (nigiri and maki), yakisoba. You will also learn how to cut a salmon fillet properly!
